Oh BABY! The Stanley Cup Playoffs couldn’t be any better without some questionable calls that turn the tides of a game, a series, and a postseason. The Vegas Golden Knights are the latest team to feel the wrath of a phantom penalty.
Nothing can even be excusable for the Golden Knights that made them have to be in this situation in the first place. The Knights were up 3 games to 1 in the series and San Jose battled back to tie it. The Sharks had stellar goaltending in the latter part of the series which forced the game 7.

All of this doesn’t really matter because in game 7 anything can happen and anything did happen. Vegas was up by a score of 3-0 midway through the 3rd period when a shit storm started to brew.
There was a face-off in the Vegas end and after the face-off Cody Eakin appeared to move forward bumping Joe Pavelski. At that time, Pavelski bumped into Stasney and hit the ice. It was a harmless play and the ref didn’t even put his hand up.
Unfortunately Pavelski suffered a bizarre injury and the rest is history. The ref out of nowhere assessed a 5 minute major to Eakin and the Sharks stormed back.
San Jose scored 4 unanswered goals and then the Knights responded with one of their own. At the end, it went to overtime and the game would ultimately be won by San Jose. They are now off to the second round.
The reaction from Vegas fans is outrage. They have a point.
