When the Colorado Avalanche take to the ice for the season opener they will do so with some new flavour. The rugged former Toronto Maple Leaf Nazem Kadri will be in the lineup.
Kadri who is coming off of a disappointing playoffs is looking to rebound this year with his new club. Colorado Avalanche fans are certainly going to be in for a huge treat when they witness the skill of Kadri.
The lineups for the Colorado Avalanche haven’t been officially released, but it is looking more and more likely that Nazem Kadri will be the teams second line center. This shouldn’t shock anyone either.
Kadri, who had a good run with the buds is a power forward. Many people often criticized the Leafs for not utilizing him better when he was with the club.

That ends now and a new chapter in the London, Ontario natives hockey career begins. With Kadri being in the second line between two other important and very skilled players he will look to shake the William Nylander demons off the mits and produce some serious points.
We will see how Kadri plays when he is lined up between Valeri Nichushkin and Joonas Donskoi. The trio is arguably one of the top second lines in the league. For the Avalanche it will be a matter of chemistry to happen for this line to be dynamite.
Another thing to watch out for is to see where Kadri ends up on the special teams. We haven’t heard anything about Kadri being pegged for the powerplay or the penalty kill but it could be a possibility.
Given the hustle and hart Kadri produces we may see him out on the second line pp or even top penalty killing line. This will ultimately be a decision that Kadri has to make with his play.
Should Kadri fall of the wagon and continue to exercise his demons he won’t be in Colorado very long. The Avalanche are poised to make a huge run this year and are early cup contenders.
Salary Cap management seems to be the key to this years Avalanche as well. They have some great players locked into crazy team deal contracts and that may be key into the success of the club.
This is the year that Kadri needs to prove that the Toronto fish bowl was just the reason why he didn’t really take the league by storm.
Kadri has a big time chance to silence his Toronto critics and prove he is a mainstream player. We look forward to that happening and seeing the success he can have.
One question that is yet to be answered will be can Nazem Kadri get over 35 goals. Only time will tell!
Look for Kadri to make a huge impact when the season starts on Thursday. The Avalanche will have it tough against the Calgary Flames.
