GAMBLING CORNER: NHL picks for Tuesday October 8th

Brad Marchand

This is our first ever gambling corner which will cover our NHL picks for the day, week or weekend when we make them. The NHL game winning picks for Tuesday October 8th, 2019 are as follows.

Tuesday evening in the NHL sees a number of games and a number of opportunities for teams to straighten the ship. The Goal Horn gambling corner is going to outline the 8 games playing in the NHL tonight. Our picks rely on some of the information provided by other websites.

We made picks for last nights games as well. We will try and post them as we pick them. For last nights games we had the St. Louis Blues over the Toronto Maple Leafs and we had the Buffalo Sabres over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Unfortunately for our picks we went 1 for 2 on the night. Binnington stood tall as we knew he would. However Buffalo ended up being a disappointment and dropping the game to Columbus.

Carolina Hurricanes vs. Florida Panters

According to we have Sergie Bobrovsky confirmed as the starter for Florida. In this game between the Hurricanes and the Panthers we see Bobrovsky to be the difference.

Florida and Carolina have jumped out to a good start but for this one we are taking Florida.

Florida Panthers

Edmonton Oilers vs. New York Islanders

In this game we don’t see Edmonton coming up with anything different that is going to change our minds that they will win against New York. Mike Smith also hasn’t been confirmed to get the start so that also plays into our decision at this time.

New York Islanders

Winnipeg Jets vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins are in deep trouble right now. Normally this would be a Pittsburgh pick all day long but with 2 of their stars on long term injury we can’t have them winning tonight. Winnipeg has been surprisingly tough to start the year. Also when the Penguins have Crosby fighting, its not a good sign.

Winnipeg Jets

Washington Capitals vs. Dallas Stars

We actually picked the Dallas Stars to be a Stanley Cup contender this year and it doesn’t look good thus far. The Stars which haven’t won a game yet are going to be in tough against Washington.

With Braden Holtby confirmed to start for the Capitals and Bishop not confirmed for the Stars, we are going to tip the scale in Washingtons favour.

Washington Capitals

Anaheim Ducks vs. Detroit Red Wings

the Detroit Red Wings are going to win this game tonight against Anaheim. We have know doubt in our mind that the momentum that the Red Wings are playing with will be too much to handle for the Ducks.

With Mantha and Bertuzzi firing on all cylinders we will most likely see a Red Wings win.

Detroit Red Wings

San Jose Sharks vs. Nashbille Predators

The San Jose Sharks have came out of the gate terribly this year and are looking to bounce back after 2 miserable performances against the Golden Knights. Meanwhile Nashville is looking to make its presence known in the Western Conference. The Preds are looking to make it known to other teams that they will be the team to beat in the West this year.

With good conscience we can’t go with the San Jose Sharks in this one. The Sharks may be the most overrated team in the league at this point and are gonna need a win soon. I don’t see that happening tonight.

Nashville Predators

Los Angeles Kings vs. Calgary Flames

The duel between Tkachuk and Doughty may boil over tonight. One thing to watch out for here is how Lucic will respond should that happen. The Flames have added the much needed toughness and are looking good.

The LA Kings on the other hand have surprised some with a high scoring brand of hockey thus far and will look to continue this tonight. With Dave Rittich confirmed between the Calgary pipes that won’t happen.

Calgary Flames

Boston Bruins vs. Vegas Golden Knights

This may be a Stanley Cup Finals preview. I would’t put my money on that but some people might. The Golden Knights look fabulous against the Sharks but we will see how that actually goes tonight.

This game is going to come down to goaltending. If Malcom Subban is in net for Vegas they will lose. Given the Bruins ability and that they have confirmed Tuukka Rask as the starter we can only pick Boston.

Boston Bruins

Like them, hate them or love them these are our picks for tonight. Remember that these picks are for entertainment purposes only and you should gamble responsibly.
