Clear the track Eddie Shack, talks about Sudbury in Spittin’ Chiclets Podcast Episode 220. We heard some great Eddie Shack stories in one of the most entertaining podcast episodes of Spittin’ Chiclets.

Eddie Shack who is now 82 years young was born in Sudbury, Ontario and unloaded one of the funniest episodes to date. In the episode he talked about how he knocked out Gordie Howe a couple times and Stan Mikita, just to name a couple of stories.

The hilarious episode included stories about how Eddie Shack won the Stanley Cup. He also talked about when he use to own the bar Hillbilly Shack and how he also owned a Golf Course.

The Golf Course which he said was the most proud of later sold for an astounding $15 million. He talked about he sold beer on a golf course when in a time it was prohibited.

Eddie Shack started talking about Sudbury, Ontario when Paul Bissonnette, one of the hosts of Spittin’ Chiclets, asked Eddie where he was born and how he got into hockey. Ryan Whitney, who is another one the hosts, ask how he got a drivers license at 13 years old.

Eddie Shack said he was a butcher in his home town, where he cleaned chickens. Shack also said he went to get his licence at 13 because it was only a $100 fine. Talking about how he could drink at that age because you’re in Sudbury now and you can do whatever you want.

The hilarious story continued when Eddie Shack talked about his 1938 Dodge and how he raced another guy on Highway 17. The other guy had a 1941 Dodge and ultimately was faster.

After the race they ended up at a hotdog place and when Eddie Shack looked in the mirror what did he see? Of course it was a police officer. What a time to live in Sudbury.

One of the other amazing stories Eddie Shack talked about was how he grew up on Horbin Street and Tim Horton who lived across the road. Eddie Shack talked about how he use to skate on the road and grab the bus by the bumper and slide down the road.
