The curse of the 2004 Stanley Cup Finals may finally be over for the Calgary Flames as they eliminate the Winnipeg Jets in there best of 5 series 3-1. Why is 2004 significant for the Calgary Flames? that was the year that the Flames made it to the Stanley Cup Finals but lost in seven games to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

This series win marks the first time the Calgary Flames have advanced in the playoffs since 2014-15 when they lost in the second round against the Anaheim Ducks. This is good news because of the way the Flames played in last years playoffs against the Colorado Avalanche.
