We seen some bad blood in a closer than anticipated game between the Colorado Avalanche and the New Jersey Devils. One play in particular seen Devils player Blake Coleman take an absolute cheap shot at Avalanche second line star Nazem Kadri.
For what ever reason the refs didn’t call a penalty on the play that seen Blake Coleman stick out his knee at the last second and clip Kadri with a knee on knee collision. The play happened deep in the Colorado end when Kadri was cycling the puck down low and Coleman went to hit him.
Kadri, who took a penalty late in the first period for cross checking was obviously in some serious discomfort after the cheap shot. Considering we didn’t see a penalty on the play we are likely not going to see any supplementary discipline either.
The Acalanche however are playing a fearless style of hockey and are poised to continue winning. The team is now 8-0-1 in the past 9 games and they don’t look to be stopping anytime soon.
One interesting tidbit from the game on Friday was that New Jersey Devils star Taylor Hall was not dressed. The Devils are probably looking to trade Hall and start a rebuild after what hopes to be a promising start turned disaster.
One of the teams, interesting enough, said to be in the Taylor Hall sweepstakes in the Colorado Avalanche. Considering he wasn’t dressed for the game we will certainly be seeing more speculation on that front in the near future.
