If you take all the Stars players and make an all-time Dallas Stars starting lineup you will have brilliance. Brilliance that gave Dallas the Stanley Cup 1999 and shades of what to expect in the future.
The Dallas Stars may only have one cup but they have almost always competed since coming from Minnesota. The Stars have great fans and some of the best Ice girls in hockey. This makes for a great hockey experience in the lone star state.
All-Time Dallas Stars Starting Lineup
Left Wing – Jamie Benn
Jamie Benn is the new-age leader of the Dallas Stars. His skillset is remarkable and he is on the verge of becoming the greatest Dallas Star to ever lace them up.
Despite Jamie Benn’s success with the Stars, he’s still short a Stanley Cup win. Benn might get his chance this year, as the Stars look to make a giant move. The 2019 playoffs saw them within a goal away, only to lose in double OT against the eventual champs.
Centre – Mike Modano
Mike Modano is a Stanley Cup Champion. Mike Modano leads the Dallas Stars in all-time points. Mike Modano is also the greatest Dallas Star to ever play.
Modano’s hockey success makes him the all-time greatest centre in Dallas as well. While playing for the Stars, Modano registered 1142 games played, scoring 434 goals and added 616 assists for a total of 1050 points.
Right Wing – Brett Hull
The Dallas Stars starting lineup wouldn’t be complete without the ‘Golden’ Brett. This may be the most controversial of our picks, though. Given Brett Hull’s success with Detroit and St.Louis, many might not remember the contribution he made to Dallas.
Brett Hull helped to bring the Dallas Stars to hockey glory, being part of the 1999 team that lifted Lord Stanley. The legendary Brett Hull most certainly deserves a spot on this lineup.
Defence – Sergei Zubov
Sergei Zubov will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame later this year. Being in the class of 2019 is certainly a high honour for this Dallas Stars defenceman.
Zubov also played on the 1999 Dallas Stars Stanley Cup championship team. In his career he played a total of 1232 games and registered 888 points.
Defence – Derian Hatcher
Darien Hatcher was a rough and tough American defenceman. Hatcher led the Dallas Stars as captain to the 1999 Stanley Cup and, in the process, became the first American-born captain to have his name engraved on the holy grail.
During his 16 years in the NHL, Hatcher amassed 1114 penalty minutes. Being one of the roughest and toughest American-born hockey players of all time, Darien Hatcher would be a great defensive choice for an all-time Dallas Stars starting lineup.
Goalie – Ed Belfour
Ed Belfour or “Eddie the Eagle” as they use to call him is a goaltending legend. Belfour was also part of that championship team of 1999.
With Ed Belfour between the pipes it made Dallas one of the toughest teams around. Belfour played 61 games that year. He has also won countless trophies. Ed Belfour is certainly one of the greatest goalies to ever play the game.
